Britannia, conceived during the Roman Empire, has become a timeless symbol of British strength. Her presence was cemented during King Charles II’s rule when she was adopted as the face of British coinage.

Throughout history, Britannia has adorned coins and now appears on bullion products relied upon by investors across the globe. In line with the 2021 security updates to our Britannia coins, we've now also enhanced our Britannia gold bars with three high-level visual security features.

These include a latent image, surface animation and micro-text, all of which heighten the detail in Jody Clark’s modern Britannia, shown armed with a trident and shield, clad in a Corinthian helmet.
